Clearwater Rodeo Queens of Past & Present

1985

Tina is the daughter of David and Jeri Schapmann of Oakdale, NE. 

Tina currently lives in Northwood, IA and has one daughter, Morgan. 

She has served as the office manager of an elementary school in Northwood for the last 17 years. 

Tina has a special interest and is very active fundraising for disabled children. She has also served as a 4-H leader. 

In recent years, Tina has rode the outride position for a powder Puff Chuckwagon Team and has been team penning. 

1986

Chris is the daughter of Don and Pat Bousha of Stuart, NE. 

Chris currently lives in Florida and she has two sons, Bo and Derek Henn. 

1987

Loretta currently lives in Tea, South Dakota. 

1988

Regina was from Spalding, NE. 

She currently lives in Crawford, NE, where she practices as a veterinarian. 

1989

Lori is the daughter of Sally and Rod Jaixen, and was from Genoa, NE. 

Lori currently lives in Lincoln, NE, where she is the coach of the University of Nebraska Equestrian team. 

1990

Janet was from Omaha, NE, and she now resides in Blair, NE, with her husband, Kevin Hartman. 

Janet has one daughter, Ryan. 

Janet is the customer service manager for Fremont Contract Carries and she has been with the company for 15 years. 

Her hobbies include showing reining horses with other past Clearwater Rodeo Queens and she is addicted to college basketball. 

Christyl is the daughter of Butch Emme and Marilyn Murphy and was from O'Neill, NE. 

She currently lives in Battle Creek, Iowa, where she is involved with livestock production and the owner of "Everything But the Barn."

Christly says if sh eis not chasing her ewes, you can find her in the garden or caring for her honey bees. She is also an avid rider. 

Christyl was the 1955 National College Rodeo Queen and the 1997 Blackhills Stock  Show and Rodeo - Miss Congeniality winner. 

1997

Krista is the daughter of Clearwater's own Gene and Renee Snodgrass. 

Krista currently lives in Battle Creek, NE, and she has a daughter, Presley. 

Krista is an LPN and works at the Norfolk VA clinic. 

In her spare time Krista enjoys camping and spending time with her family and friends. 

She also held the title of 1996 Norfolk Rodeo Queen. 

1998

Kellie is the daughter of Jim and Becky Carr and was from Royal, Nebraska when she received her crown. 

Kellie currently lives in Burwell, NE, where she is a professional photographer and the co-owner of KC Creations Photography with her mom, Becky. 

Kellie is engaged to be married this September to Justin Avgustyn. 

Kellie has held many other titles, including Logan county Queen in 1999, Oregon Trail Queen in 2000, Miss Harvest of Harmony in 2001, Miss Northwest in 2001, Miss Burwell Rodeo in 2003, and 3-time 1st runner-up to Miss Rodeo Nebraska. 

Kellie comments being the Clearwater Rodeo Queen as her favorite goal from a young age. It kicked off many years of being involved in rodeos and pageants. She spent many years working the Media Room at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and photographing some of rodeo's biggest stars. It has been a very big part of her life. She thanks Clearwater Rodeo for starting it all. 

1999

Crystal is the daughter of Junior and Charlene Young of O'Neill, NE. 

Crystal and her husband Tyson currently live in O'Neill with their son Colton, and daughters, Tandi and Trynlee. 

Crystal is a teacher at O'Neill Public Schools. In her spare time she enjoys time with her family and friends. 

Crystal was also the O'Neill Boots and Saddle Club Queen. 

She notes she will always remember becoming the Queen of Clearwater Rodeo in 1999, as she was able to share the special honor with her dad, Junior, as he returned to clowning the Clearwater Rodeo that year. 

2000

Jessica is the daughter of Barb and Mike Preusker of O'Neill, NE. 

Jessica currently lives in Norfolk and has three daughters, Harlie, Destiny, and Theory. 

She is a cosmetologist and owns her own salon in Norfolk. 

She says she enjoys playing volleyball, riding horses, and spending time with her family. 

2001

Rachel is the daughter of Kenny and LuAnn Bartos of Tilden, NE. 

She currently lives in Tilden with her husband, Terry, and their four children, Levi, Cassidy, Kaylee, and Taylor. 

Rachel works part time as a para for Elkhorn Valley Schools and she works on the family farm. 

She still enjoys riding horses with her children, going to horse shows, gardening, cooking, and reading. 

2007

Joni is the daughter of Joel and Jane Qualm of Ericson, NE. 

She currently lives in Arvada, Colorado, where she is a cosmetic nurse. 

Joni enjoys staying involved in ag and ranch life, traveling, nursing, and going to concerts. 

She also held the titles of Nebraska High School Rodeo Queen in 2009 and 2010. She was Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2015 and top 10 at Miss Rodeo America. 

2008

Jenni is the daughter of Dr. Douglas and Cathy Laflan of Creighton, NE. 

She and her husband, Josh, currently live in Omaha, NE. 

Jenni is part owner of "Climate Crossfit" and she is just finishing nursing school. 

She enjoys CrossFit, volunteering, reading, hiking, horseback riding, and swimming.

2009

Dakota is the daughter of Michael Olson and Judy Merten of Albion, NE. 

She currently lives in Albion and is a ProEdge Grain Specialist and Commodity 

Broker for Central Valley Ag. 

Dakota's hobbies include riding horses, hunting, fishing, wood and craft projects. 

2010

Sara is the daughter of Doug and Marilyn Kromarek of Brunswick, NE. 

She currently resides in Ogallala, NE, where she is a licensed Veterinary Technician at the Ogallala Animal Clinic. 

She enjoys riding, hunting, and fishing in her spare time. 

2011

Morgan is the daughter of Doug and Luann Hall of Neligh, NE. 

She is a graduate of South Dakota State University and she is currently working on the family farm. 

Morgan is married to Nick Penlerick.

She enjoys training horses, competing in cutting and reining shows, roping and hunting. 

Morgan also held the title of 2014 Jackrabbit Stampede Ambassador. 

2012

Devin is the daughter of Chris and Jeanine Baum of Elgin. 

Devin was very active in FFA, rodeos, and crafting. 

She is currently the director of the rodeo queen contest, and an avid sponsor of the Clearwater Rodeo. 

2013

Jenna is the daughter of Randy and Bernice Brown of Norfolk. 

Jenna is a 2016 UNL graduate and she currently resides in Elkhorn where she is a manger for Enterprise Holdings, Incorporated. 

She enjoys rodeo, team roping, anything outdoors or anything that involves horses and cows. 

Jenna also held the title of 2015-2016 UNL Rodeo Queen. 

2014

McKenzie Brozek is the daughter of Kirk Brozek and Shelly Brozek. 

She graduated Plainview High School where she was a member of FFA, and presdient of the Morning Star Wranglers 4-H Club.
Brozek started riding and competing on horses at a young age. Brozek trained horses for Green Valley Cowhorses and competed in ranch sortings across the mid-states. She won the Cowboy Classic Sorting and the Nebraska Cattlemen’s State Finals Pro-Amateur Sorting. 

2015

Cassidy Curtis, daughter of Corey and Tanya Curtis, is a Royal native.
She has earned many reserve champions and serve placing at her state FFA show.  

Curtis was a member of the 2013 Nebraska Youth Team and a member of the 2014 Nebraska Quarter Horse Youth World Show Team. 
She is a Creighton Community Schools graduate.
